You have heard of mountains, valleys, hills, hollers, and plains, but what landform is this?
With the mean elevation of the State of Delaware at only 60 ft above sea level, one doesn’t expect to see a lot of hills. Lower-slower, flatter, Sussex County is fairly devoid of hills. So if and when you see one, it catches your attention, and you hope you never have to park on one because you haven’t even tried to use your parking brake since you bought your car! It’s not that we actually need them-thar hills so we can mine for gold in them, or ride off into the sunset, or to hide behind them. They are just an unusual phenomenon in this area.
Hills are something that you see on TV. Cowboys ride up over the hills to chase after the bad guys. Around here, a haystack would make an interesting hill. Did you know that when you drive over a hill you pick up speed on the way down? Of course you did, and you don’t want to get a speeding ticket, so not having a lot of hills is a good thing, right?
But, today, for the first time, I stopped and took notice of a hill that you must see. It really caught my eye. I even stopped my vehicle to look at it—both ways! I am certain that you will agree that it is a most unusual hill….a hill that you can’t even climb if you tried!
...So check out these coordinates and take a good look at this hill phenomenon as soon as possible. This cache is located at a Sussex County hill!
