Geocache Description:

THIS IS A MULTI-CACHE. Located near a Jack Fruit Tree in Wai`anae Valley. Just about 99% of this hike is on a paved road. The dificulty rating is the fact that it is steep and if you start after 8 a.m. most of the time you'll be in the hot Wai`anae Sun.

Park your car at the end of Wai`anae Valley Road just outside the Wai`anae Kai Forest Reserve Locked Gate. Because this area is open to pig hunting I recommend you wear BRIGHT colors. You may run into un-leashed hunting dogs. Don't be afraid. Talk to the dog as you approach on the trail or road. Give the dog room and walk around him/her.

Start hiking up the paved Bd of Water Supply paved road until you reach the above coordinates. There you will find the coordinates of the cache location written in two places. (Along the way you will pass 1 water tank and 2 wells. The BWS has made provisions for water you can drink at the two wells.)

The coordinates will lead you about 5 minutes into the Rain Forest to the base of a large Jack Fruit Tree that is growing between 2 dry streams.

Place you back against the tree and face up stream. You should be looking at the beginnings of a ridge w/some very large boulders on it. The cache is hidden amongst the large boulders.

Contents:
TB=Wai`anae Traffic Control
TB=Death from the Sky
Log Book
Brass Meditation Balls
Corridor of Storms-Book II in First American Series

Be sure to cover the cache with rocks as this is a high traffic area for our local wild pig hunting community. We don't want any of them to loot the cache.

I advise starting as early in the morning as you can get to Wai`anae. It can get very hot here and you have a walk of at least 45 minutes up the Bd Water Supply paved road. There is an elevation gain of about 800 feet along the road.

If you start early and get all hot and sweaty just go for one of my "Peanut Butter" caches along the coast line and go for a dip as well. The ocean is cool and relaxing. Just remember leave nothing of value in your car either at the gate or at the beach.
