The entrance to the reserve is at 34° 04.910S and 24° 54.161E. It's open 24/7 and entry is free. (The gate is closed after hours and over weekends, but not locked.) Drive up to the offices and park your vehicle. Take the ferry / bushpig hiking trail down to the river and cross the river with the ferry. (Try to cross the river during high tide - ferry might be stuck in the mud during low tide.)
PLEASE NOTE: The ferry is now broken and not available any more. You will need an inflated tube, canoe or paddle-ski to cross the river or else take a swim.
It use to be a lovely cache to take the kids with - we took our 6 year old cousin along when we hid it and he even carried the daypack with cache for us. (Whilst the ferry is broken, footpaths cannot be maintained and we expect that it will become very overgrown - be prepared for this!) (It doesn't seem as if the ferry will be repaired soon - crossing the river is now a minor issue compared to the bundu bashing required to get to the cache!! - terrain rating upped to 4.5)
