This cache can be approached in a number of different ways, either by following the road from just outside Coles Bay (by bike, foot, or 4WD), the Northern end of the beach, or even by sea? We came by bike and found this a somewhat more challenging ride than expected, hence the cache name. Or maybe we just found it challenging because we didnt take enough food to keep us going? In any event, I'm sure others will find this to be a ride in the park.
We rode in from Coles Bay, following the well graded road up to the reservoir, then up and over the saddle. Past the reservoir, the road narrows, and becomes quite steep in parts. It is certainly navigable by 4WD, but I'd only recommend this for people who know what they're doing (e.g. Even with my Subaru Impreza, I wouldn't feel confident driving the full way).
Near GZ there is a basic campsite, Frank's Camp, made by a local 4WD club. There is a table, a bush toilet, and space for vehicles.
Note: This are is part of the Freycinet National Park, so park fees apply.
While in the area, remember to check out the GCA-listed caches, including...
