Geocache Description:

From ohjoy! - "I enjoy night caches and thought that I would share one with you. This one is a lot kinder than my Spider Eyes night cache back home in Olympia. Also, many thanks to Caveboy_Ken who walked the trail a number of times helping me set this up, and again when I was visiting and doing maintenance runs."

Those of you who have done night caches previously know the drill. However, for those of you new to the concept, here are some instructions.

1. Do not go alone.

2. Wait until it is dark outside. (dusk could be ok)

3. Park at the given coordinates in a well lit place.

4. Proceed to the trailhead coordinates found on this cache page by going around the fence. Don't worry about the No Trespassing sign. College staff know about and approve of cachers hunting for this cache. Stay close to the fence and then walk in somewhat of a zig-zag to the given trailhead coordinates.

5. Once at the trailhead, look for the first firefly to the North. The best way to do this is to hold a strong flashlight at eye level so that the firefly shines back into your eyes.

6. Bring a spare light.

7. Proceed down the path following the fireflies. They have been placed close together at the beginning to get you started. After that they will be farther apart. If you don't see the next one, just continue down the trail until you do.

8. Stay on the path and the fireflies will guide you along. You will be going up and down, and zig zagging the entire way.

9. After walking for quite some time, you will come to three white fireflies standing up straight. This is your clue to let you know that you are getting very close.

10. Once you get to the three white fireflies, you will walk about another 100' and you will see three orange fireflies in a triangle. You have arrived and you will find the container within 20 feet of that tree. If you are facing the fireflies, the hiding spot will be to your left and uphill. Be careful of the briers.

Questions?
Q. What do I do if I don’t see the next firefly?
A. Continue on the path until you do.

Q. Where will the fireflies be located?
A. On trees, 4-8’ above ground, on either side of the path, and from 1-10’ off the path.

Q. What if I see two yellow fireflies?

If you still want to go after this cache, remember the two basic rules of wisdom:
- don't leave the path (until you see the firefly triangle)
- if you get to a fork, take it
