EN: The main reason why tourists come to the Chram Panny
Marie Vitezne (Church of the Lady Maria of the Victory) is the
statue of the Christ child which has been ascribed some miraculous
features. The origin of the statuette is still mysterious.
According to one of legends a Spanish monk made it of wood and wax
sometime on the turn of 11th and 12th century when constant fights
raged between Christian sovereigns and Moors on the Pyrenean
peninsula. It took him his entire life to finish it. A soon as he
made the final touch he took a rest and never woke up to this
world.
The Infant Jesus was brought to Bohemia by Maria Maxmiliana
Manriquez de Lara - the Spanish bride of a Czech nobleman Vratislav
z Pernstejna in the 16th century. The Nino Jesus should have
protected their new family. Maria's daughter, Duchess Polyxena of
Lobkovicz, then donated the statuette to the church.
The presence of the Infant Jesus is believed to protect the
cloister against medieval epidemies. The worshippers then started
to honor and even pray to it. The Infant Jesus is said to have show
many miracles - spontaneous healing for example. During the past
centuries many monks and missionaries started movements to praise
the statue. Bambino di Praga is well-known not only in Southern
Europe, but also in Latin America, India, Central Africa, as well
as in some Asian countries like China, Vietnam, or Filipines.
The statue has been set on one of the side altars and is
sufficiently protected by glass. It is easy to find. If someone is
praying on their knees, you will find they are not praying to the
main altar but the one on the side.
If you enter the church, on the walls you will find an unbelievable
number of marble plaques giving thanks for miracles, healing, and
heeding prayers. People are always coming and going there.
A collection of dresses that were given to the Holy Infant as an
expression of gratefulness, is situated in a room in the upper
floor, the entrance is on the left from the altar. The smal museum
inside the church contains a great amount of historical clothing,
which have been sent by various famous world leaders from different
countries, aristocrats and politicians. Many of these clothes have
been decorated with gold and precious stones.

CZ: V Chramu Panny Marie Vitezne prebyva or roku 1628
proslula soska Prazskeho Jezulatka, v katolickych zemich znameho
krestany a Maury prezili vydrancovani klastera u Sevilly. Soska
maleho Jezise. Povest pravi, ze jakmile sve dilo dokoncil, usnul a
do naseho sveta se jiz neprobudil.
Sosku v 16. stoleti ze Spanelska privezla do Cech nevesta
Vratislava z Pernstejna - Maria Maxmiliana Manriquez de Lara jako
ochranu rodinneho krbu. Podle tradice ji zdedila jeji dcera
Polyxena z Lobkovicz. Protoze Polyxena uz nemela zenskeho potomka,
venovala sosku radu karmelitanu.
Jezulatko melo udajne zazracnou moc, nebot uchranilo klaster
pred morem a valecnym drancovanim.
vami,
dejte mi moje ruce a já vám dám svuj pokoj,
maly jezisek zehnat klasteru, mistnim lidem i cele Praze. Roku 1651
Milostne Prazske Jezulatko. V roce 1655 byl prazsky Jezisek pri
slavnostni msi svate o Velikonocich korunovan.
Filipinach. Prazske jezulatko vsak znaji verici v dalsich desitkach
zemi vcetne Ciny, Vietnamu, ci Stredoafricke republiky.
Zvlastni kapitolou jsou Jezulatkovy saty darovane vdecnymi
vericimi a dale cirkevnimi hodnostari, aristokraty a politiky z
celeho sveta. Spousta z celkem 85 odevu je dekorovana zlatem a
drahymi kameny. Soska se pravidelne prevleka podle liturgickych
obdobi. V malem muzeu uvnitr kostela najdete napr. dreveny relief
sosky Prazskeho Jezulatka, nekolikero z desitek oblecku, nebo
rokokovou korunu ze 17. stoleti
