This church was dedicated to St John the Baptist in 1860, previously the villagers utilised a local barn for their services. It was presented by Lady Charlotte Webster in the memory of her husband, Sir Godfrey. Designed by the Victorian architect Samuel Sanders Teulon. St John the Baptist is commemorated by a painting on the north wall by the 17th century artist Giovanni Barbieni. The artist used himself as the model for the features. Read the legend under the church clock to solve the clue.
