Geocache Description:

This is a quick cache & dash in a lovely rural country setting. Travel Bugs will like it here, on the "go between" Colorado & New Mexico.

You're looking for a 7"x5"x2.5" Ultra Latch container. Please hide it well! It is not hidden near or in the buildings so please be respectful of them.

"Old" Fort Lewis was named after Lt. Col. William H. Lewis, an Alabama born West Pointer who was cited twice for gallantry & meritorious service in the 1862 New Mexico Campaign during the Civil War.

This 6,300 acre facility on the LaPlata River has served as a military fort, Indian school, high school, 2-year agricultural college & is now the San Juan Basin Research Center.
