Geocache Description:

Road is one way here, you can park close but beware of muggles. El camino es de una manera, es posible aparcar cerca, pero ten en cuenta de muggles.

This cache is near the track of the old Spanish Great Southern Railway, in the village of Almajalejo near Huercal Overa. This was particularly rugged and difficult terrain for the construction of the railway in the 1880s.When the track was completed on this section double header engines were required to pull the wagons up the Almajalejo heights. On 8th October 1929, as train 254 was shunted at Huercal Overa a section of 13 wagons broke away and ran towards Zurgena at km 43.1 they ran into a mineral train that was being pulled by two engines. The trucks crashed into the lead engine and then left the track with the load of esparto catching fire. The driver of the engine was killed and the engine was severely damaged, as were 8 of the wagons at a cost of half a million pesetas.
