Fond Farewell, to Florida Finder's Fest!

Join us for a day of Finds, Fellowship, and Food in the Ocala National Forest! Bringing you geocaching shenanigans for the 18th year, the Forest Minions invite you to come enjoy the Ocala National Forest near Mill Dam. This will be the final Florida Finder’s Fest event, as volunteers get harder to come by, each year. If you would like to take over this event for the future, we will be happy to change the name, so this epic event can continue.

We will have Mill Damn Group Campground reserved for Camping from Friday October 21st through Sunday October 23rd. This site is designed for tent camping. There is a bathroom and running water on site. There are no electrical hookups. There is space in the parking lot for a couple small campers/RVs, but there are no outlets, so you’ll be without shore power.

This year we are trying to get back to the roots of Finder’s Fest, where the focus is on food, finds, and most importantly, fellowship. This event will be completely free of charge, with the Forest Minions providing hotdogs, as the main course. You should bring your favorite beverage, to imbibe. We hope you will bring something yummy to share, which compliments hotdogs, to help fill our plates. Each geocaching moniker signing the ammo can log, will be given five raffle tickets, for a humble giveaway. Anyone providing food or raffle items, will get an extra five tickets. (Total of ten tickets, max)  There will also be a 50/50 raffle, which you can buy tickets for. Cash donations will be graciously accepted, to help the Minions defer some of the costs involved in renting the site, and buying the food.

Bring a camp chair, as there will be a bonfire tonight, where much schmoozing will occur.

8:00am - 4:00pm - 2021 Travel bug Race ends. Drop off any of last year's contestants, at the campground

4:00pm – 6:00pm Fond Farewell, to Florida Finder's Fest

4:00pm - Grill gets lit. Hotdogs get burnt.

6:00pm - Raffle

8:00pm – 9:00pm Some "Probing" Questions... (Night Adventure)

Sunday:

7:00 – 8:00 Campground Cleanup

9:00am – 9:30am 30 Pieces Of What? (Kayaking Silver Springs)

1:00pm – 2:00pm I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for... (Ice Cream & Schmoozing!)

Edit to add: If someone wants the Finder's Fest tradition to continue, and they are willing to take it over, we will happily change the name of this event, and turn the reins for next year, over to you.
