Geocache Description:

The cache is a small lock 'n' lock container.  It is part of a trail of caches along Highway 10 leading to Country Legends Manitoba 2015 (WestCan 5) in Dauphin.

Bobby Clarke, born in Flin Flon, played at center for the NHL Philadelphia Flyers for fifteen years.  He was captain of the team from 1973 to 1979  and again 1982 to 1984 when he retired. The Flyers won the Stanley Cup twice during his captaincy, 1974 and 1975.  A highly skilled player, Clarke earned 100 points in three seasons and twice scored more assists than anyone else in the NHL.  He played in eight All Star games and won the Hart Trophy for most valuable player three times.  Once he was awarded the Selke Trophy for the most defensive forward.  In 1987, Clarke was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

In his early teens, Clark was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes but went on to play very successfully with his home town junior team the Flin Flon Bombers.  In spite of written assurance from doctors at the Mayo Clinic that his diabetes would not prevent his success in the NHL, he was passed over in the first round of the draft but picked up in the second round.  Since his retirement from playing hockey he has worked as an executive, mostly with the Flyers.
