Muita funda mesmo!
O fojo da Praia da Adraga, situado entre esta praia e a Praia da
Ursa (na realidade, é mesmo ao lado de uma pequena praia,
praticamente inacessível, colada à Praia da Adraga) é uma caverna
vertical (um autêntico buraco monstruoso) que vai desde o topo da
arriba até ao mar – o que significa que é um buraco com cerca
de 75 metros de altura, e com um diâmetro que varia entre os 20 e
os 30 metros.
Este fojo está localizado em pleno Parque Natural Sintra-Cascais,
numa área extremamente bonita, pela paisagem que dali se pode
usufruir – para Oeste, o oceano que se estende até às costas
norte-americanas; para o interior, a Serra de Sintra e o início da
região saloia; para Sul, a Ursa, com o Cabo da Roca como pano de
fundo; a Norte, toda a costa até à Ericeira (em dias muito, muito
bons, até às Berlengas).Vão até lá, e aproveitem para encontrar
esta cache – já agora, como é a minha primeira, comentários e
sugestões são muito bem vindos.
Questões práticas:
- Existe uma estrada de terra que leva até lá acima ( entrada em N
38º47.959 W009º29.061) (relembrem-se que é um parque natural) ou
então podem deixar o carro em N 38º48.026 W009º29.077.
- Uma questão muito importante. O fojo está numa zona de arribas
com cerca de 75 / 80 metros sobre o mar. Além do mais, e apesar de
existir um pequeno ‘muro’ de resguardo em redor do
fojo, a protecção que este oferece é muito limitada. Aconselha-se
por isso extrema precaução, especialmente com crianças. A sério!

Very deep indeed!
The ‘Adraga’s Beach Fojo’, located between this
beach and ‘Ursa’s’ (as a matter of fact, it is
next to a small, almost inaccessible beach, rock-to-rock to
Adraga’s Beach) is a vertical cave (a real monstrous hole)
that goes from the top of the cliff to the sea – meaning this
hole is around 75 meters deep, and around 20 to 30 metres
round.
This cave is located in Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, in a extremely
beautiful area, with magnificent views all around – to the
West, the ocean that only ends in North America’s shores; to
the inland, Sintra and the beginning of the countryside; to the
South, Ursa’s Rock and the ‘Cabo da Roca’ (go
there, it is the Europe’s westernmost spot); to the North,
all the shore till Ericeira (and in very, very fine weather, to
Berlengas’ Islands).Go there, and get this cache – by
the way, as this is my first one, any comment or suggestion will be
very much welcome.
Just some practical questions:
- There is a 4X4 vehicle road that will take you to the top (starts
at N 38º47.959 W009º29.061) (remember this is a natural park). You
can park at N 38º48.026 W009º29.077.
- A very important point. This cave is located in a 75/80 m cliff
area. Furthermore, and even if there is a small ‘wall’
around the ‘fojo’, this offers limited safety. So, it
is advisable to use of extreme care, especially with children. I
mean it! (it can be really dangerous)
