Moderate terrain depending on your hiking ability. Several trailhead/access points make this a short to long hike through the redwoods.

The cache is a 4.5"x9"x2" Rubbermaid type container with a blue lid. We chose this spot for a cache because of the fantastic hike to get there. As there are several different access points you can take to make this as short as 3/4 mile each way or as long as an 8 mile loop. We definitely suggest the longer if you have the time and energy. However, no matter what your length of trip we think you'll enjoy the beautiful shaded trails, well maintained but not often traveled.
Although the hike can be strenuous you can also limit the amount of exercise by taking one of the shorter paths. Please note that there is a mild grade to the trail so those with mobility difficulties or very young children might find it a bit much regardless of the trailhead you choose.
The area is called Huddart County Park. It is accessible from Skyline Blvd between Hwy 92 and Hwy 84. You can also come in via Kings Mountain Road where there are camping and picnic areas and a campground road that provides several trailheads that bring you rather close to the cache site.
A final note, there is heavy tree coverage over most of the trails in this park but a good signal (within 90 feet) can be had at the site. Also the name provides enough info to make it a reasonable find.
Initial contents are a logbook and pen, Speedo Pedometer (works), Rubber Lizard, Mini Slinky Thing, The Letter "B", a Pinball out of my Mata Hari machine and some Cinnamon Altoids for "trail breath".
