Located near the heart of Duck, NC. This cache is at the entrance of the neighborhood where we have our annual family gathering for Thanksgiving. You can park in the shopping area named after a certain tree. HINT for the Tree: Pinus taeda , one of the fastest growing southern pines-- This North American native has dark green needles and narrow, red-brown, often-paired cones that are three to six inches long. Grows in a wide variety of soils and is drought tolerant.
You’ll need to look both ways before you cross the street and go to the lower most section of the winding pathway.
This is our first cache and it was placed on my parents 10th wedding anniversary. Its name pays tribute to our house and the fact that anyone who comes for our Thanksgiving celebration is family!
Please take note that since we are so close to the Ocean and the Sound that we have all the treasures and the log book in plastic bags. Just ensure you just make a trade and leave the bags to ensure all the treasures stay dry.
