Geocache Description:

This cache is located at a special place, one of the two Degree Confluences in San Diego County.  The other Degree Confluence is N 33 W 117 and is no longer accessible because it is on private property.

To get to this cache, exit Split Mountain Road at approximately N33 02.254 W116 05.825 and follow the dirt road along the railroad tracks.  The road is very sandy, so you will probably need 4WD.  If you don't have 4WD, you could park at the start of the dirt road, but it will extend your hike significantly.  Start the hike up the mountain at approximately N33 00.653 W116 00.367.

There is no trail to the cache and you will have to be careful as you pick your way up the mountain.  The total elevation change is about 1000 feet and the hike will be about 2 miles depending on the route that you take.  Our route up and back is shown below:

The cache was started out with the usual premium swag.
