Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed to celebrate the British Bluebell. It was placed in 2012 in the year of the Queen's Jubilee and London 2012 Olympic games - hence the name. It follows public footpaths and is placed part way up Bredon Hill.

April 27th 2013 Bluebells are late this year but just coming out - have added disposable camera - please take photo and wind film on afterwards and at end of season I will post photos.

There are three types of Bluebell in the UK. The native Bluebell, the Spanish Bluebell and a hybrid. A British Bluebell has creamy white pollen and a strong sweet smell. Its flowers are narrowly tubular and the petals roll back strongly. The flower pike nods at the tip.

This cache has been placed at the edge of a Bluebell wood and if you visit in April/early May British Bluebells will carpet the woodland floor.

No Bluebells have been harmed in the making of this cache so please respect the woodland and the Bluebells and stick to the footpath.

If you arrive from Beckford (as opposed to coming across country along Bredon Hill) please park in the village as once past the houses the country lane is for authorised vehicles of Overbury Estate only so please respect this.

The cache is a clip n lock box in a cammo bag.

Enjoy the woodland and the views.

Well Done Cache Mad Bookeeper - FTF on the day the cache was published - good job!
