COME JOIN US FOR LEAP YEAR DAY 2016, EARN A SPECIAL SOUVENIR, AND HELP FILL YOUR 366-DAY CALENDAR GRID!

This is an informal meet and greet to hang out with caching friends and grab a bite to eat. (Food purchase is not required to attend this event.) All levels of geocachers are encouraged to attend! Swap TBs and geo-lies with fellow cachers.

So here we are in another Leap Year. So many cachers these days pay so much attention to stats that this day is highly sought after. After all, if you want to really fill your calendar, then this is a date that only comes once every 4 years. So here is your chance to not only log a find on this most rare of days, but you can also get a special souvenir for your cache profile page.

You can ALSO get a SECOND SOUVENIR by logging a non-event cache find between February 27th to 29th.

In the nearly 16 years since the first geocache was placed, there is a single date on which only a small fraction of geocachers have ever logged a cache find. I suspect that's because this particular date has only happened 3 times in geocaching history (2004, 2008, 2012) -- it's February 29th, known as "Leap Year".
