Geocache Description:

A small cache placed near Victoria Park.

**Cache moved 05/10/09**

**Cache replaced and moved slightly 14/08/10. Container very small, almost micro**

Curse of the FTF Rules:

1. The FTF is cursed! They are asked to place the next in the series (Curse of the FTF - Swansea and Gower #2). If the FTF can't do it, please can they say so in their log or message me so the 2nd to find can be offered the chance to carry on the series

2. It is asked that you only be a FTF for this series once. This is to give others a chance to be the FTF and place the next cache in the series.

3. Cache can be any type of cache (Traditional, Puzzle, Multi, etc.)
but please don't make them member only unless you can give me a very good reason as i'd hate for people to only be able to do part of the series. Can also be any size, but to be honest I think Swansea has enough Micros and Nanos, think big!!!

4. When the next cache is placed please e-mail the owners of all the preceding caches so a link can be added (and curse officially lifted).

5. Please keep the series in the Swansea and Gower area (not over the county borders please!), that way local cachers can follow the series, and other areas can have their own :)

The Cache:

When I first came to Swansea Victoria Park was just the place where Patti Pavilion, home of many Uni exams was, and where people played bowls but upon further inspection it's a rather nice little park. It has tennis courts, a skate park, a play area and a kiosk as well as beautifully maintained flowers and plants. There is parking on either side of the park on Francis St. and Gorse Lane but they may get busy depending on what's going on in the area. There's also a new car park next to Pati, as the Pavillion has been redeveloped into a function hall and an Indian restaurant, and there are public toilets on the other side (although not hugely well maintained).

The cache itself is not at the published co-ordinates but a short distance away across a very busy road. PLEASE USE DESIGNATED CROSSING AREAS! The park is level, as it the cache area although a wheelchair user will need to stretch to read cache, it should be possible. Ground Zero gets VERY BUSY, so stealth is needed.

At the published co-ordinates you will find the answer to the following:

When was William Thomas Mayor? 18AB to 18CD

Cache is at:
N 51° 36.A(B-5)(B-A) W 003° 57.C(D-5)(D-D)

PLEASE MAKE SURE CACHE IS WELL HIDDEN WHEN YOU REPLACE IT!!!

Thanks to redvark of Leicestershire who started a series and inspired Broxi, Foxy and Cubs who started the SW Devon series and whom I in turn nicked the idea off. PLEASE NOTE: Sadly Groundspeak has now disallowed Curse of the FTF series caches, as they consider it to be an 'Additional logging requirement'.

Nearby caches:

UCACHE #1: GC2YPA1
Swansea Nano: Victorian Iron Bridge GCVH4Z
Swansea Mega Memories: GC30YRV
Tired Test Tube: GC2N3ZH

These are all along the seafront promenade and are an easy, level walk away (although getting the GZ of each cache may require some off the path work)

If you're feeling really fit there are many caches further along Swansea Bay which is a wonderful gentle stroll or bike ride all the way to Mumbles, from where you could get a bus back :) I'd recommend starting your walk at:

What a Corker! GC24WCR

and finishing at;

Knab Rock GC17RKC

For a well deserved lunch at the nearby cafe!
