Geocache Description:

A park and grab in an almost surreal feature on the famous promenade next to the ocean. Views across Table Bay to Robben Island and stunning sunsets.

Is it an art form?  Is it a stone age burial site?  Is it Cape Town's Stonehenge?  Was it a meteorite shower? Extra terrestrials? Rubble? A beacon?

Since the cache was placed here a plaque has been placed on the north side to reveal that this is indeed a work of art and acknowledge the artist Strijdom Van Der Merwe. These granite rocks which were excavated when the sea wall was rehabilitated in 2018 were arranged in a pattern to echo the ebb and flow of the tide. It is called STONE TIDE

Head to Head art form in Mouille Point - look both ways for muggles, joggers, cyclists and dog walkers!
