Geocache Description:

All right Geocachers, it’s time to park that Geomobile, put on your Walking Shoes or your Running Shoes or get out that bike and do a little exercise (check with your doctor before starting any exercise regimen).  With permission from OC_Clay, I have started to fill in the missing caches along the San Diego Creek and Newport Back Bay Bicycle path, on the path he named BIKENCACHE.

Long before the Highway to H.E.L.L. Power Trail, before the HMD Power Trail, before the Route 66 Power Trail, even before the ET Highway Power Trail, Orange County’s own OC_Clay put out a biking/running/walking ‘Power Trail’.  This trail was first published in 2005 when caching was just five years old.  It was designed to get folks outside and enjoy a nice trip down the San Diego Creek Bike Trail.

This trail was not designed to be done quickly, but to enjoy the scenery around UC Irvine, the Newport Back Bay and then the Pacific Ocean.  If you think the cache is missing, please feel free to replace it but remember, although most of these caches are easy, a handful are on the more difficult side.  Check out the Difficulty Rating before giving up or replacing the cache.  For my replacements, I used a variety of containers, some I picked up on the H.E.L.L. power trail, some I picked up on the Route 66 Power Trail and some of them I made in my own garage.

Please use care in searching for the caches, NONE of them are in any closed area and the authorities keep a close eye on the Protected Wetlands, there is no need to venture out there.  The path is quite busy with bikers, runners, walkers and hopefully a Geocacher now and then.  So be careful of the traffic, and have fun on the trail.
