Welcome to Sturgeon Cemetery on Whitepine Road in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia, I hope that you enjoy the scenic drive on the way here.
This is the resting place of the William Sturgeon Family. In 1848 William Sturgeon, Sr., wife Nancy: sons Samuel, James and William, Jr., daughters Martha, Margaret, and Elizabeth; migrated from Fish Creek in Monroe Co Ohio (across the river from New Martinsville,West Virginia) via a raft down the Ohio river to Glenwood, West Virginia and then up 18 mile creek about 3 miles to a likely homestead spot.
Sturgeon Cemetery appears to be located on what was, during his lifetime, part of his own property.
Please be respectful of the cemetery, sit a moment, and take in the solitude.
Also, please be careful as you retrieve and replace the geocache. BYOP
