Geocache Description:

The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

The farm has been in the family since 1967, the barn is currently used for hay storage. The quilt was done in memory of Ruth Ellen's and Lois' mother. This barn quilt "Carolina Lily" is painted directly on the barn doors.

Visit this quilt's web page at Green County Barns Quilts.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Steve Johnston of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
