Geocache Description:

The 2012 Crew

It’s on again!!

After the success of our first two events, we are looking forward to hosting this gathering again this year. You may have noticed we have changed the name slightly but it is still the same great event.

The location is the beautiful Fagan Park at Galston, an ideal spot for Geocachers to gather.

The event will be an informal meet and greet, “BYO everything” picnic and everyone is welcome to come along. Those who attend will have the opportunity to catch up with old mates and make new friends while discussing all-things Geocaching. There is always the chance to discover and swap travel bugs and geocoins, to get answers to those niggling questions you have, as well as find the caches located in the park. Festivities will commence at 11:00am and conclude at 3:30pm. A group photo of those in attendance will be taken at 12:30pm.

Best access to Fagan Park for this event is via the Carrs Rd entrance. Entry for people is free however there is a $5 per car parking fee (payable at the boom gate with coins, notes or Visa/Mastercard) and there is plenty of parking once inside. The money raised helps with the maintenance of the park. If you are feeling a tad poor, there is limited parking outside and you can simply walk in. At the published co-ordinates, there will be a sign indicating exactly where we will be set up. Hopefully, it will be at one of the picnic shelters close by, (if we get there early enough and they are not booked for a function.) There are electric BBQ’s available ($1 coin in the slot) and toilet facilities nearby. Kids, of all ages, can bring along their cricket sets, frisbees, bikes, footballs, etc, as there is lots of room. There is also some play equipment for the little ones to enjoy.

Fagan Park also has the following rules:

*Alcohol must not be taken into the park.

*Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash and stay at least 10m from BBQs, picnic tables and the play equipment.

In the case of bad weather on the day, a decision will be made and a note will be placed on this page by 8:00am on the morning of the event indicating if it will go ahead or not. Fingers are crossed for a beautiful day.

Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so you receive any updates. I hope you can come along and help make this another truly enjoyable gathering.

Cheers,
