The Event:

You can arrive any time from noon for the award ceremony at around 1pm. There will be an area for trackables of all sorts, but please remember if you take one, to log it online. Unlogged trackables make fairies cry.
The Darebin Creek Bike trail passes very close to the event and runs from Latrobe Uni nearly to the Yarra River.
Schedule:
12noon ish - Arrive for BBQ lunch (Bring goodies)
1pm - Announcement of the Winners and Runners up
2pm - finish, but you can stay on site as long as there are people there
Facilities and the event site include toilets, free BBQs (which we will be using) and a picnic shelter. The Darebin Creek Environment Centre also has its home here.

The Rules:
- You can nominate three caches in the following categories.
- Best Traditional Cache
- Best Multi Cache
- Best Puzzle/Mystery Cache
- You can only nominate one cache in the remaining categories.
- There will be a maximum of 30 caches to vote on in any one category, if more 30 caches are nominated, they must receive more than 1 nomination from different people to be eligible. If more than 30 caches are still nominated, they will need 3 nominations etc.
- The caches must be published in Victoria during 2017.
- The caches must still be active at the end of 2017.
- You can NOT nominate a cache you have placed, a photo you have taken or a log you have written, but that doesn't mean you can't canvas someone else to.
- Photos MUST be online on a cache log.
- Photos MUST have been taken in Victoria.
- Nominations for the Best First Cache category must be from real caching teams, not accounts created to represent groups of experienced cachers.
- For the purposes of the Awards, a series is defined as 5 or more caches hidden by the same geocaching team.
- If the spirit of these rules are not being followed, caches/log/photo can be removed from the voting at any time.
You don't need to have nominated a cache or even have voted in the awards to attend the event.
