Geocache Description:

This is a physically easy eight-part multi involving a little bit of primary school maths at the end. Your final destination is a place where there is a lot of the history of the Barcaldine District. Please make the time to visit the centre. If you are in town on certain dates, you may even be able to take the kids on a train ride!

Take a look at their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/BarcaldineandDistrictFolkMuseum) for current activities, and enjoy your stay in Barcaldine.

You will commence your journey at WP1 which is some 9.5K from the town, then head towards Barcaldine, gathering the information at each waypoint.

WP1: Look at the numbers on the sign. They could be Binary numbers. What would they be in Decimal?

WP2: On the sign, how many tens are in the frequency?

WP3: Using only angles on the black area INSIDE the sign, how many RIGHT-ANGLES can you count?

WP4: What is the TOTAL number of letters on this sign?

WP5: How many words start with the same letter at the beginning of the word (Add them all together)?

WP6: How many letters are in the final word on this sign?

WP7: How may VOWELS are in the words on the Barcaldine sign?
            (It appears the sign may have been moved about 20mtrs from its original location - but it is the only colourful sign around.)

WP8: The Sum of the four numbers near the word 'ININGAI' on the awning of the Cafe opposite. (Use only ONE set of numbers)

Checksum of all waypoint answers = 81

Once you have all eight numbers correct, you can deduce the location of the cache itself.

S23 33.ABC E145 17.XYZ where:

A = (WP6 plus WP7) //divided by// (WP1 minus WP2)

B = (WP7 minus WP6) //divided by// (WP8 minus WP2)

C = (WP1 plus WP3) //divided by// (WP6 plus WP5)

X = WP2 squared //divided by// (WP5 times WP2)

Y = The square root of (WP7 -WP3) //times// (WP8 minus WP7)

Z = (WP7 divided by WP6) //plus// (WP1 plus WP2) divided by (WP4-WP2)

NOTE: Do the maths to the LEFT of the first //, then do the maths to the RIGHT of the second // then do what is BETWEEN the two // with the answers you get.

Each answer is a single digit.

Checksum: A+B+C+X+Y+Z = 26

FINAL POINT: Please read the waypoint information below for additional hints.
