The Periodic Table of Elements - 4 - Beryllium

Beryllium is the chemical element with the symbol Be and has an atomic number of 4.

Things you might not know about Beryllium:

1.      Beryllium is hard enough to scratch glass.

2.      Beryllium has one of the highest melting points on the periodic table and is also one of the lightest metals on the periodic table.

3.      Beryllium is very toxic and should definitely be handled with close attention and care.

4.      Beryllium is found in the gemstone called beryl. This group of gemstones includes emeralds and aquamarines.
