Geocache Description:

It is a little known fact that Door County is inhabited by Polar Bears. These strange northern creatures venture out of the security of their dens-and living rooms-for one glorious day every year.

To spot them, head to Jacksonport beach and find this small plastic round container. Be discreet when finding this cache especially if you are at the event. Please replace in the exact location and keep the cache from falling out by sliding the cache container carefully all the way in. Enjoy some of the maritime history on sunken ships within the area and learn about a device that raised anchors, sails, handling mooring lines, and loading cargo. Stay within the park boundaries and respect the private property signs. When you find this cache, log it and email the answers to the following questions as a bonus. 1. What is the official title of the event? 2. What is the name of the park? 3. Who is the founder that has been involved in the event since 1986? 4. On what special day does this event occur? Don't feel you have to answer these questions to get credit for the find, but enjoy the spirit of this regular cache.
