There will be food and fun for everyone! We have booked the "Activity Center" for the event. This facility is an enclosed building with covered outdoor spaces available. Things to Do
The park offers camping, picnicking, mountain biking, horseback riding, nature study, fishing (crappie, perch, catfish and bass) and boating.
Outfitters & Guide Services
Horseback riding is available from Faith Ridin Stables (936) 967-5032. Enjoy a leisurely ride through 2.5 miles of scenic and wooded terrain while observing the abundance of plants and wildlife this park has to offer. Note: The public is not allowed to bring horses and must use the horses provided.
Equipment Rentals
The Park Store and Marina is privately operated and open all year long, with limited hours from December to February. The store offers groceries, ice, bait, tackle, firewood, camping and RV supplies, souvenirs, T-shirts and mountain bike rentals. The marina offers fuel on the water and boat rentals. Boat rentals include paddle boats, canoes, kayaks and rowboats. Please call (936) 365-3000 for additional information.
This park participates in the Angler Education “Tackle Loaner Program”; individuals can borrow rods, reels and tackle boxes with hooks, sinkers and bobbers.

Cache Container Contest We want to thank everyone who helped make our previous Cache Container Contests such a success. The contest has proved to be great geo-fun! It was so much fun; we have decided to do it again.
So, gather your caching contraband and start thinking like a geocacher to create that killer cache container for the Octoberfest 2012 Cache Container Contest.
There will once again be two Categories:
1) Most Creative: Imaginative, interesting, cute -- overall creative in design and execution.
2) Most Challenging: Evil, difficult, well-camoed -- overall challenging in design and execution
Awards and prizes will be presented to 1st - 3rd place in each catagory. Of course, there is also that intangible reward: peer recognition!
Guidelines: All entries must be received by 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20th. No late entries will be accepted. There is no need to pre-enter and there is no limit on the number of entries. All entries must be new, not previously hidden or entered in our previous contest caches. Cache containers must be ready to hide, including a weather-proof log book or log sheet able to stand up to the elements without leaking or breaking. Name your cache but do NOT put your name on your cache. All cache containers entered into this Contest become property of the Contest. The winning containers will be auctioned and any remaining entries will be awarded as door prizes at the Event.
Contest entrants are eligible to win in more than one prize. Contest entrants are eligible to bid on the winning containers. Contest entrants are eligible to win containers as door prizes. Containers will be on display in the Event Pavilion as entries are received until the prize drawings begins. Winners will be announced during the doorprize / auction ceremony after lunch on Saturday. You need not be present to win, but it is preferred.
