Découvrir La Boulaye 11: Le Château de La Boulaye
Cette Cache est la onzième d'une série de 12 caches, qui vous permettra de découvrir La Boulaye pour une promenade d'environ 6 km. Vous pouvez trouver une carte du parcours ci-dessous.
Les bases de ce château sont les anciens chenils (les bâtiments qui abritaient la meute), construits au 17ème siècle. Quand le château de famille fut détruit par un incendie en 1824, le Marquis de Montmort fit agrandir les chenils vers 1890.
Henri-Adolphe-Eugène Schneider, maître de forges au Creusot, a acheté le château en 1894 et l'a transformé en son château de chasse. Pour avoir plus de terre, il fit un pacte avec le village de La Boulaye. En échange de la terre autour de son château, il offrit au village de construire plusieurs nouveaux bâtiments. La famille Schneider posséda le château jusqu'en 1950.
Après la première guerre, le château fut utilisé comme un orphelinat pour les orphelins de la guerre jusqu'en 1933.
Depuis 2007, maintenant entièrement rénové et reconstruit en partie, le château est un hôtel et un restaurant.
L'ancienne chapelle, où vous trouverez la cache, a été utilisée comme une porcherie pendant de nombreuses années. Maintenant, elle est abandonnée et tombe en ruines.
Lorsque vous montez le chemin sur la droite de la chapelle à quelques mètres, à N 46° 44.333 E 4° 08.041 vous pouvez découvrir l'ancienne fontaine.

This Cache is the eleventh in a series of 12 caches, that will let you discover La Boulaye during a walk of about 6 km. You can find a map of the way above.
The foundations of this castle are the old kennels (the buildings that housed the pack of hounds), built in the 17th century. Because the family castle was destroyed by fire in 1824, the Marquis de Montmort enlarged the kennels in 1890 and transformed them into this castle.
Henri-Adolphe-Eugène Schneider, Maître de Forges at Creusot, bought the castle in 1894 and turned it into a hunting lodge. For more land, he made a pact with the village of La Boulaye. In exchange for the land around the castle, he offered to the village to build several new buildings. The Schneider family possessed the castle until 1950.
After WW1, the castle was used as an orphanage for war orphans until 1933.
Since 2007, now completely renovated and partially reconstructed, the castle is a hotel and restaurant.
The old chapel, where you will find the cache, was used as a pigsty for many years. Now it is abandoned and falls into ruins.
If you take the way on the right of the chapel and walk a few meters, at N 46° 44.333 E 4° 08.041 you can discover an old spring.

Die Basis für dieses Schloss sind die alten Zwinger (die Gebäude für die Meute), im 17. Jahrhundert erbaut. Weil das Familienschloss durch einen Brand im Jahr 1824 zerstört wurde, vergrößerte der Marquis de Montmort die Zwinger in 1890 und verwandelte sie in dieses Schloss.
Henri-Adolphe-Eugène Schneider, Maître de Forges in Creusot, kaufte das Schloss im Jahre 1894 und machte es zu einem Jagdschloss. Für mehr Land machte er einen Pakt mit dem Dorf La Boulaye. Im Austausch für das Land rund um das Schloss, bot er an, mehrere neue Gebäude für das Dorf zu bauen. Die Familie Schneider besaß das Schloss bis 1950.
Nach dem ersten Weltkrieg wurde das Schloss bis 1933 als Waisenhaus für Kriegswaisen verwendet.
Seit 2007, nun komplett renoviert und teilweise rekonstruiert, ist das Schloss ein Hotel und Restaurant.
Die alte Kapelle, wo Ihr den Cache findet, wurde für viele Jahre als Schweinestall verwendet. Nun ist sie verlassen und zerfällt zur Ruine.
