A moderate hike up Perseverance Trail. The cache is about a mile up the trail near Ebner Falls. Gradual elevation gain. Very popular trail for runners, hikers, and fools on mountain bikes.
Perseverance Trail begins at the end of Basin Road. Basin Road can be found at the top of Gold Street downtown and is a pleasant 1.25 mile walk to the end. Perseverance Trail snakes through the valley for 3 miles, ending in Last Chance Basin. Several other trails, including Mt. Juneau, Red Mill and Granite Creek, spur off this trail. Lots of variety for exploring this valley.
Check out www.juneautrails.org for more information on the trails around Juneau.
Note on Mt. Juneau -- steep trail that should be attempted from late May to October only. Stay on the trail.
