After I archived my Sugar Shack Woods multi, this made room for a new cache near the Halvorsen Sugar Shack. Wiessner Woods is a popular place for dog walking, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing. The Sugar Shack is a destination for many. Occasionally groups reserve it for outdoor functions, but everyone is welcome to sit under the porch when the shack itself is closed.
The Wiessner Woods is managed by the Stowe Land Trust. At the Sugar Shack, the trails leave Wiessner Woods and enter the Halvorsen property, also open to the public for outdoor enjoyment.
From listed parking, you may follow the blue blazes of the Catamount Trail, which runs through the property on its way between the Topnotch and Edson Hill touring centers. The cache is a small container within view of the sugar shack. BYOP.
