Geocache Description:

Look without climbing, there is no need. You are looking for a camoed ammo can.

This cache is located at the Josep "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center and placed with permission of the iAssisstant Administrator Ladonna Scott. All the security officers are aware of anyone looking for the cache, if anyone has any questions let them know what you are doing and that you are there with the permission of Mrs. Scott. All the employees there are very helpful and extremely nice. They were not 100% sure what Geocaching was but had an idea. After speaking with them they had a much better idea and they were all for having a cache placed here. If you have questions about the place or the cache they will give you an idea but they will not tell you where it is. It is almost in plain view. They ask for no one to climb on the tank due to possible damamge to the tank since it is on lone and to possible injuries from climbing. I encourage notes of cache maintanance or you can even let Mrs. Scott or the front desk know and they have my contact phone number to call me if there is something wrong.

The Veterans Center is a small clinic for Veterans as well as a 120 bed main facility on 33 acres five miles north of Madisonville in Hanson, KY. It opened March 14, 2002, while the other 3 buildings of 36 single rooms facility was finally completed in April 2013, for a total of 156 veterans. The Veterans Center is a very beautiful place for Veterans to be able to get the help they need.

The "Patton Tank" that sits on the premisses is a M60A3 Main Battle Tank. 15,000 were built and used by the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. This tank was in service from 1961 (Vietnam) through 1992 (Desert Storm). It is now on loan by the U.S. Army to the Western Kentucky Veterans Center on April 6, 2003.

While you are there, leave a good note and take of picture of yourself with the tank as a great momento.

There is a lock to open the cache and it is also chained to make sure the cache stays there. In order to open the lock answer this question.

What year was the first facility built?

If you answer the question right, turn the numbers then push the lock in a little and pull down and "Presto". You got it.

If you take a tb, please leave a tb. If you don't have a tb just leave it for someone that can trade a tb and on your log just discover it. Take consideration for those that can trade tb's and keep them moving. Everyone always wants to find and take a tb. I know because I do. Just think of how you would feel if you wanted to trade a tb and there wasn't one there. Also remember your CITO skills bere as well. Have a great hunt. If you really like this cache please give me a favorite point and help raise the favorites status. I had to raise the difficulty due to the amount of muggles in the area so be as stealthy as possible to not raise suspicion on yourself. Congratulations to nomad721 for FTF.
