The Biggest Burl Traditional Geocache

On a well groomed trail (in both summer and winter) near Whistler's Upper village is the Biggest Burl in the Biggest Tree you can imagine! It stands right along the river on the valley trail loop network. You do not have to go more than a few feet off the trail but you'll have to look way up to find the big burl and look down to find the cache.

Whistler has the most amazing trail network and along the Fitzsimmons creek on a path a little less travelled is an old growth tree. It is so large that it really stands out and the giant knob like wood growth, known as a burl which is found way, way up is absolutely gigantic! You can access this spot from three or more directions. It is a nice stroll if you were exploring the Upper Village or looking to visit Lost Lake. In the summer there can be quite a few cyclists and even black bears sharing the trail. This giant old tree has a close neighbour and it is between these two that the cache can be found. When hiding it try to keep Whistler's deep snow in mind so it doesn't get buried!

You could even visit the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre or Passive Haus on your travels as they are quite near!
