Saltmarshes occur on the intertidal zone on the shores of estuaries and lagoons.
They are communities of succulents, rushes and low shrubs that can tolerate salty soil and occasionally being swamped by salt water. Between the patches of vegetation are salt pans.
Saltmarshes are endangered ecological communities. We need your help to save them from disappearing. Please don’t drive on the saltmarsh.
