Geocache Description:

18 September 2021, 13:00 - 13:30

The 30-minute World Wide Flash Mob Caching Event

The World Wide Flash Mob Event: Hundreds of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to geocaching. The event will last EXACTLY 30 minutes, not one second longer. It will begin precisely at 1PM on Saturday September 18th, 2021 and end at 1:30PM. The event will be held at Confederation Park. This is in an open public space. This venue was chosen due to the amount of parking available on site, which has been waypointed. There are also more parking spots available further along Van Wagners Beach Road.

1PM: A single whistle will sound indicating cachers to converge at the posted coordinates. At this point, all geocachers will converge, seeming to come out of "nowhere". Before this time, please walk around the park and act like a muggle. Participants will sign the log sheets/raffle entries (optional), and drop them in a designated collection box.
1:05PM: The event "meal" will be handed out.

1:15PM: We will take a group photo.
1:20PM: Raffle winners will be called out.
1:25PM-1:30PM: Geo-talk with fellow cachers!
1:30PM: A double whistle will sound and the log sheets will be packed up and sealed away.

Suggestion: Come early, to ensure that you do not miss the event. Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 1:30PM. Afterwards, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of caching! There are lots of caches in the area, and even one that is nearby IN Lake Ontario!

I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)

The WWFM idea was started in 2007 after 2 cachers attended a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
