I placed this cache after floating down the river but it is possible to hike into the wash from the Johansen Coral at N 39°04.668 W 110°41.085 and back in a long day hike which could take 6 to 10 hours but an overnight trip would be enjoyable. There should be no need to cross the river when hiking from the Coral. It is also nice to hike from Fuller's Bottom and stay overnight in Virgin Spring but would require many river crossings. If starting at the Johansen Coral, walk west on a good trail. It is about 3 miles to Cane Wash and another 5 miles to Virgin Spring. There is a small panel in the mouth of Cane Wash at N 39°05.536 W 110°43.874 and another panel on a small bluff at N 39°05.641 W 110°44.353. If you walk up Virgin Spring Canyon 300 yds is 2 nice Indian panels and another 300 yds is a pool of water.
In 2006 we hiked from Fuller's Bottom to the Johansen Coral in 2 days.
