When: Wednesday December 17th 2008, from 6.30pm 'til
11pm
Where: The Old Mill, London Road, Berkhamsted, HP4 2NB.
01442 879590. The pub is located at the Eastern end of the road
that goes right through the middle of Berkhamsted. It's about a
mile and a half from the railway station in Hertfordshire. They
will be running both a festive menu and the usual a la carte menu
(plus bar snacks before 6.30pm).
As it is close to Christmas, the pub will get pretty full.
Currently, we are due to go into the bar end of the pub and take
our chances with finding a seat/table. I have
now rung the pub and arranged the use of the private dining room
for us from 6.30 to 8.30. I have booked for 12, but the room seats
up to 16. That's the good news... the bad news is we have to vacate
the room and retire to the bar as they have another party booked in
from 8.30, but at least it means we should be able to sit down to
eat for a couple of hours
Why: very good question! ;-)
Who: Cachers from Bucks, Beds & Herts, hopefully, but
sorry, no dogs at this pub
What: This is the eleventh of an ongoing series of
mid-monthly-ish, mid-week-ish regular events at various locations
handy for natives of the three counties to talk caching, plan
expeditions and decide who's organising the next one. There's a
good selection of caches in the area to make more of a day of
it
coming soon : The January Event
