The building located at 111 W. 1st Street is a significant historical landmark in Kannapolis.  The original theatre opened on December 31, 19??.  A fire gutted the theatre in 1942, but it was rebuilt after World War II, reopening in 1948.  Today, this is the longest standing Art Deco building in Cabarrus County and the oldest single screen theatre in operation in the United States.
