This is about the journey, as someone once said, “there and back to see how far it is”. A simple journey for those who remember of the days when we went for the “Drive”, often with the parents, often against our will.
Take extreme care on the roads, these are country roads and they can be dangerous and we all need to keep safe for our friends and family.
Caches only have a Logbook. Bring a Pen, and possibly an extraction device (especially if the previous person signing the log stuffed it to the base of the cache container.
The series of roads this is based along is a journey that I was subjected to several times over the years, so thought it only fair that I set up the journey for “YOU”. There was a time when this route was much travelled as an overland path between two harbours, Kawhia and Raglan.
To break up the journey there are two caches at the “Bridal Veil Falls”. It also gives the kids a chance to run off a bit that pent up energy, for the next leg of the journey.
There are two Bonus Caches as part of the journey, one for those heading North and another for those heading South. Now, who’s going to go for both Bonus Caches?
The important part here is:
- Green Letters/Numbers are for the North Bonus Cache
- Red Letters/Numbers are for the South Bonus Cache
Thinking of the kids, I have ensured that the items starting in the Bonus Caches I have tried to include items to keep the kids occupied for the return journey.
