Located at Sisters Farm Recreational Area. Take Port Arthur Rd. (lights by Wal-Mart) west of Ladysmith to Sisters Farm Rd. Public trail system, but not always easy walking.
The Sisters Farm Trails trailhead parking (N 45o 26.091’ W 091o 07.795’) is the place to start. The Sisters Farm is named after nuns who farmed the property at one time. Now, the property is owned by Flambeau Mining Company with whom the City of Ladysmith has a trail easement for the Sisters Farm Trails. The Ladysmith Area Trail Association maintains the trails – mowing in the summer, grooming for cross country skiing in winter, and general maintenance. You’ll notice that the Arrowhead-Western Powerline and the Enbridge Pipeline corridors pass through this property, but construction is complete and reclamation is substantially complete. The Sisters Farms trails west of the Sisters Farm road were established in the 1970s, and the trails on the west were established in the 1990s while the mine was in operation.
