Geocache Description:

Please bring your own pen!

Nice paved trail until the last 10 feet or so. There are a few dips and holes to fall in near the cache, plus a fence nearby (no need to cross). The trail is popular with bikers and walkers at certain times of day and certain times of year, so stealth may be required.

Parking is available at North Ridge Park or on Northland Circle. Northland Circle is no parking in some areas and no parking 2am-6am everywhere.

Beagle Meet and Greet is a traditional micro cache located in an out of the way corner of North Ridge Park in Coralville. Bring your own pen, and watch out for muggles enjoying the trail.

Up the trail from this cache lives a beagle named Chubs. One day, while Jason was walking our own beagle, Chubs came trotting down the trail to introduce himself. Once the formalities were over, Jason made to continue the walk. Chubs, having formed some sort of a bond, decided to follow. At first. Within less than a block Chubs had taken the lead, trotting ahead of Jason and our dog all the way to 12th Ave, over I-80, and back along the other side of the interstate. Concerned that Chubs would not be able to find his way back, Jason called Deb and together we collected the beagle and drove him back to the area we thought was home. After knocking on the front door of one house, Chubs's owner appeared on bike, relieved to see his dog and surprised to hear about how far he had wandered off. Since then we've seen Chubs on a few occasions, but thankfully not on his own. If you see him, be sure to say hi!
