Monarchs and the Moon Party Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pawn-of-Chaos: The event was one month ago. All logs should have been entered by now. Sorry the Monarch turnout was so poor. You never can predict Mother Nature, though.

Geocache Description:

Take a walking tour of the County Grounds guided by a volunteer from the Friends of the Monarch Trail. Make sure to bring your camera as the butterflies should be nearing full force.

This is the time of year when the Monarch butterflies gather at the County Grounds to ready themselves for a 2500 mile migration to Mexico. We will be guided through the area by a volunteer from the Friends of the Monarch Trail. Please gather in the parking lot by 6PM for the tour. I also hope to have new travel bugs ready to launch and several temporary caches to find. This portion of the evening is for geocachers (and their guests) only.

The next portion of the evening is open to the public and you are more than welcome to attend. After 7PM, it's a Moon Party! From this location, you can watch the moon rise on one horizon while the sun sets on the other. Food and music will be provided.

Please RSVP as soon as you can so we have an idea of how many to expect. Hope to see you there.

PS: Please keep in mind that this is an outdoor event and I have no control over the weather conditions. The rain date for the tour event is September 5 at 6PM.
