This cache has been archived.

hollora: Time for this cache to be archived. It had a great run and my hubby thoroughly enjoyed cachers coming to the house. Memories which mean a great deal now.

Geocache Description:

This cache started it's life as a living being.. A moose walking the wilds of Eustis ME. And then, hollora, Francis Family and Ms Amara found this skull in the woods..........the rest will be history.............

Thanks to http://www.kidsturncentral.com for the great graphic!
A perfect time of year to visit - The trail isn't to wet - the bamboo isn't grown up yet and our bugs, so far, aren't to bad. Come visit and enjoy!

So, the skull was retrieved from the woods, taken to the 2nd Annual Get Useless in Eustis Event with a micro inside, as a part of the cache container contest. It came back to Orringotn ME and now it is just a Bone Headed Moose - Hanging Around.

CACHE IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART - PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE CACHE DESCRIPTION!

Thank you to everyone who has visited and who enjoyed the cache. Also to the photos posted. Just love them! Seems this is going well. The cache will stay out as long as everyone enjoys and there are no problems or major complains. Parking is limited but contact me if you have questions. During the summer there is no problem to pull to the side need to coords which is the trail head. Cache is full of stuff.

PLEASE follow the directions and you should be fine..........no one to grab you here..........park on the side of the road near the coordinates (there is a ditch and bank - be careful) for the start of the firetacks. Or you may park at the edge of our driveway #17 - please pull to the side and do not block it!

The coords are the start at the trailhead (two firetacks on a tree) and follow the fire tacks to your treasure - about 0.1 of a mile walk. Be warned - you may want to wear boots seasonally!!!! The trail can be MUDDY, has roots (Many Roots to FALL over), sticks (Many Sticks to FALL over), may have some water - BE CAREFUL!
So watch the tacks with your light shoulder high BUT also watch your footing with another light or level back and forth. You are welcome here and if you follow the trail won't be near our house. You will wind through some woods, come out along the edge of the highway fence, walk by a weeping willow, go back into some woods, find the moose and the cache container lurking on the edge of another field. You may even see some wild life too! Please do not spook anything live as we enjoy watching the deer, turkeys and other wildlife on our property. In fact, our son-in-law is not allowed to hunt here.

Please remove only the Ammo can (yes, it's a ammo can) from its hanger and leave the poor moose hanging in peace! Place the ammo can back on the nail after gathering your treasures.

Attributes - I have check off for children, as children would have fun but it would be a bit of a trek for a toddler (but my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter loves it) - and do be careful with them - creep along and make it a fun experience - in the woods at night! Also, have checked off Dogs ok, BUT, please on leash only or voice command - I would not want them taking off if you spook a deer or other critter and we have seen bobcat on our property. Return via the fire tacks to your starting place.

Congrats to EMSDanel on the FTF!
