Dworek:
W Tarnowie przy ulicy Krakowskiej, posród
miejskiej zabudowy znajduje sie zabytkowy dworek podmiejski wraz ze
spichlerzem. Zostal on zbudowany w drugiej polowie XVIII w poza
ówczesnymi granicami miasta. Pierwotnie pelnil role zajazdu.
Pózniej jako budynek mieszkalny rodziny Onitschów. Na poczatku XX
w. Waleria Onitsch sprzedala dobra miastu z zastrzezeniem
wykorzystania go na Teatr Miejski. Niestety z braku srodków projekt
ten nigdy nie zostal zrealizowany. Przez wiele lat dworek sluzyl
jako czynszowy dom mieszkalny co doprowadzilo go do ruiny.
W latach 80. XX w. budynek zostal wyremontowany a w jego wnetrzu
urzadzono Muzeum Etnograficzne. Taka role pelni do dzis. Znajduje
sie tam jedyna w Polsce stala wystawa poswiecona kulturze Romów,
która warto odwiedzic. Organizowane sa tam takze cykliczne imprezy
folklorystyczne, w tym zwiazane z kultura cyganska.

The manor house:
In Tarnów, in Krakowska street, among city
buildings there is a historical suburban manor house with a
granary. It was built in 2nd half of 18. century outside the
borders of the city. Originally, it was an inn, later a residential
house owned by the Onitsch family. At the beginning of 20. century
Waleria Onitsch sold the property to the city with a reservation
that it will be used as a city theatre. Unfortunately, due to the
lack of money this project had never been accomplished. For many
years the manor house was used as a tenement-house and turned it
into a ruin.
In 1980s the building was renovated and the Ethnography Museum has
been located there. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to the
Romani (Gypsy) culture and it is the only exhibition on this
subject in Poland - well worth your visit. Periodical folk events,
including events connected to Romani culture, are organized by the
museum.
