Geocache Description:

Congratulations to JPS4E, BGN and H@TW for FTF!

There are two markers at this site.

One marker identifies the spot of muster of Company D of the 32nd Iowa Infantry Regiment. This regiment was comprised of soldiers from several counties, including Boone County, and served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

The other marker is a typical route marker for the Old Lincoln Highway, the first U.S. transcontinental highway. Construction of this highway began in New York in 1913 and was completed in California in 1927 and followed, basically, U. S. Highway 30. For more information about the Lincoln Highway through Iowa please visit www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/iowa .

This is a high muggle area, especially on week days. Please keep an eye out for them! :-)
