Beginners Geocaching Workshop
This workshop will be held at the Gering
Public Library meeting room located at 1055 P Street from 10am to
4pm on Saturday, January 29th. The meeting room is in
the basement level and is handicap accessible.
This beginners workshop will cover
general geocaching information, the history of geocaching,
geocaching today, getting started, creating a geocaching account,
things you should know before you go caching, types of geocaches,
items you might need while caching, how to find a geocache, logging
your finds and general information on hiding a cache.
There
will be a one hour break for lunch around noon.
Lunch will be on your own.
We will be going geocaching after lunch,
therefore if you have a GPSr bring it along. However, this workshop
will not cover how to use your GPSr. If you are unsure how to use
your GPSr bring your users manual with you for reference.
The list of geocaches that we
will be looking for will be provided during the workshop.
Free wireless internet
access is available at the library

caching or a veteran, bring your questions, stories and expertise
and lets learn about geocaching!
