Geocache Description:

The Life Begins cache series is an autobiographical trail set to celebrate - if that's the right word - my turning 40 in November 2011. Don't forget to answer the question in red on the log and make a note of the number! You should get four chances to get each figure in order to find LB40-Bonus!

This cache: Close to the church in Steeple Claydon where I once played Joseph in a school nativity play. I had to stand for the whole thing while Mary got a seat. It put me off religion for life.

Biography: 1978 was another fun year of study at the Alan Shaw Middle School. I got thumped by my big brother Adam quite a lot, but this would stop when I eventually got taller and bigger than him. Blakes Seven was on TV but it was known as Blakes Three-and-a-Half in my house, as I wasn't allowed to stay up to watch all of it.

Wider world: 1978 was the year of the jogging craze, Greese, Superman the Movie and Midnight Express. The Boomtown Rats and Kate Bush were big, as were singles with the success of 12" discs. Atari 2600 was at the start of the 'home arcade game' revolution - high-tech, yet with some stick-on wood effect detailing. Grange Hill tackled issues and a certain J. Clarkson joined Top Gear. Wonder Woman was flying her invisible plane and The Generation Game with Larry Grayson was on TV too, while Simon and Star Wars toys were all the rage. Number 1 on my birthday: Rat Trap by the Boomtown Rats.

Where next: Pass the church, keeping it on your right, with nice views in that direction before you reach it. Pass through the kissing gate and follow the road (there is a pavement) towards the start point of LB08 at Camp barn.
