I found this area a long time ago on an exhausting 6-7 mile hike from the Felsenmeer around to the end of slack road, down County Road W, and back to the vehicle parked at the gate to the Felsenmeer. I cut across here thinking I would save some time and energy but did not. But what I did find another neat area not far off the beaten path. Some bushwacking may be required but the walk is short. Like most of our caches we try to put you right in the middle of it and this cache accomplishes that.
I was here to add a small cache container in the fall but instead we found the perfect spot for an ammo can, which we left at home. Pepper our Black Lab was running all around the rocks from top to bottom and all around. I thought she was going to get hurt but she mastered this little canyon and wanted it named after her.
There are multiple ways to approach this cache. The easiest would be from the road on the south side of the cache.
Even though this cache was placed in the winter I'm not sure it would be very easy to find. The cache is a .30 cal ammo can but the location of it will make 30 feet either way a little work. I took a spoiler pic to help you find the cache. You cannot see the ammo can in the pic but your body will have to be there.
We do not recommend finding this cache solo.
