Who wants in on THE AMAZING RACE - Bug Line Edition???
This is your chance to sign up and form a team to run The Amazing Race

Its ok if you haven't seen the TV show by the same name. Our rules are fairly simple......

1.) Sign up to be on a team by simply logging a find on this cache and include in your log, whether you want to participate or not.

2.)Update as of March 29th: You can form your own teams of approximately 2 to 4 people
Once you have your team together, decide on a day you can all get together.
Email me the day you want to do the race and I will reserve that day for you.

We will be scheduling your team for a day, this way only one team will be on the trail at once.
We will put some kind of calender up on this cache page so every one can see which days are taken and which are available.

3)The night before your race day we will email you the coordinates of where to begin the race.
You will sign in there at the first cache and record your starting time
You will also get instructions on how to solve the first mystery cache and you on on your way!
Each insuing cache will provide instructions on what you need to do to find the next cache.
We will be running it as similar to the Amazing Race tv show as possible.
Instead of getting a list of all the caches you will need to find each one in order, so that you have the instructions for the next one.
In other words it will be one long letter box/multi, which will result in 33 finds, which you can log once the actual caches are published in a regular format(They will not be published online until after everyone has raced)

Once you sign in at the starting point...the race is on!.

The final cache will include a sign out sheet where you will record the time of day.
We will calculate everyones time from the sign in sheet and the sign out sheet on either end of the course.
We will be having an event after everyone is done and we will reveal the top times at that event and award some kind of prizes.
We have decided to keep the times un revealed until the Event to keep the suspense.
We will also award a prize for the most creative picture that you take
There will be 33 caches, all on the Bug Line trail, so can stategize, if you want to bike or hike.
There may be advantages to biking and there also may be advantages to hiking

Along the way you can expect some field puzzles, a couple multis and other surprises.
Also expect some climbing and evil hides.

We have no idea how long it will take, but plan on a good part of a day .

The race course will run from Lannon to Sussex (Approx. 5 miles)

This should be a fun team caching expierence, where everyone on the team can play a role...

We will take as many people as sign up, so lets get going!!!

LETS START THE AMAZING RACE!!!

Here is the list of equipment that we either recommend you bring or will be needed.
GPS
Compass (either old school or electric)
Binoculars (NEEDED)
Smart Phone with internet access(NEEDED)
Flashlight (who knows how long you will be out there)
Tweezers
Tape Measure
Pen and Paper
Calculator
Several caches will require you to improvise a natural tool that you find laying about
Drinking Water
Snack Food
Rubber Boots are not necessary but if there has been a lot of rain and you want to carry them in a back pack, they may come in handy.
The trail crosses Hwy 74 in Lannon at approximately the half way point of the race. There is a BP gas station at that point where you could purchase snacks and beverages and use the bathroom.
A 2nd place that you could stop for food or a restroom is Quarry Coffee, which is just southwest of the Bug Line on Highway 74.....the coords are:N 43° 09.050 W 088° 09.780
