Geocache Description:

Do not attempt this cache if you have to damage the crops to get to it. If crops are planted, walk around the edge of the field. Crops such as wheat, oats and soy beans are easily damaged so leave the cache until after the harvest if you can not walk the edge without harming the crops. The cache will be archived if there are complaints or if I notice damage to the crops. Be very careful.

This cache is located on land owned by the Town of Neenah (TON). It highlights the Vining School that is located southwest of the final. This is a three stage multi and is over a mile in length. You may begin in the cemetery but it will be a little more difficult to return to your car from the final so it is recommended that you start at the parking area which is a dirt right of way going back to the town property off Oakridge Road. Park to the side in case others need to get through. There is a "Keep Out" sign next to the right of way but that is on the property to the west. To return to the parking area after grabbing the final, walk east to the farmers lane and then south to your car. All WPs except WP1 are near the edge of the property so stay to the inside to avoid tresspassing. Deep snow may be a problem. There are no open/closed hours here but please only do this one during daylight. Do not disturb any crops.

This cache was placed with permission from David Dexter, Town Supervisor.

Vining School was a one room single story schoolhouse with a high ceiling of about 14 feet and a hip roof. It closed its doors about 1954 and was later converted into a home about 1958. A second story was added by putting in another floor about 7 feet above the original floor.
